Eric Scher, MD
RVPC Volunteer Medical Director
Dr. Scher is Board Certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and currently is the Pediatric Hospitalist/ER Consultant at Sutter Novato Community Hospital. He has been an outstanding pediatrician in the Bay Area for some time. He developed and directed the Pediatric Hospitalist Program at Marin General Hospital and the Pediatric After Hours Clinic from 1999 to 2017 and provided care as a UCSF Pediatric Critical Care Transport Physician from 1990 to 1995.
Dr. Scher was the initial medical director for the first few years at the RVPC with many visits to the Roatán Public Hospital over the years. Over the last year Dr. Scher has committed to not only providing supervision as the RVPC Volunteer Medical Director, he has worked to reinstitute the Global Healing Fellow program at RVPC. This program gives new Honduran Doctors the opportunity to gain a year of practical experience in a medically diverse public hospital, enhancing their skills to be the best qualified physicians within their own country.
We are so grateful to have Dr. Scher working with us, because of his leadership we are confident in our success to meet our goals and objectives.
