Global Healing COVID-19 Response

Global Healing COVID-19 Statement March 11, 2020

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced COVID-19 as a pandemic. Additionally, they have advised countries to institute public health measures, including advisories on travel, to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

As a response, Global Healing will follow state and federal government and WHO’s policies and warnings. We will continue to monitor the worldwide outbreak and follow all precautionary measures to contain this virus and reflect the realities of living in a global community.

Effective immediately, travel to our pediatric care sites is temporarily suspended until further notice.

Our travel suspension information is from host country government policies, as well as advisories from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the US State Department.

More information based on country sites is available:

Global Healing Bay Area Staff will telecommute for the next two weeks and reassess this policy. As a global health nonprofit, we understand the concerns and potential complications this has caused for many countries. As the world shrinks through greater connectivity we have seen crises like this in many parts of the world, and as we become ever more interconnected we all begin to feel the impacts.

As we monitor the rapidly evolving situation, we will continue to plan future trips and seek volunteers for later this year. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact us at contact@globalhealing.org.
