Amy Cook

Chief Communications Officer

With over 20 years of public relations experience in the worldwide healthcare industry, Amy Cook joined the Board of Directors in 2009 as the Chief Communications Officer. She served as Chairperson of the Board of Directors from January 2015 – December 2016, and was also Interim President from August – October 2015.

She began her career working for Acuson Corporation, now Siemens Medical, where she was responsible for worldwide public relations. She started her own business in 2000 specializing in global media relations for healthcare companies and some of her clients have included Siemens Medical, Carl Zeiss Meditec, MAKO Surgical, Analogic Corporation, Hansen Medical and BSN medical. Amy has placed her clients in several major daily newspapers and national TV/radio including front-page stories in the Wall Street Journal and the Sunday business section of The New York Times. In addition, her clients have appeared on NPR, CNN, and all major television networks. Amy is also an established writer and has ghost written several articles for physicians and healthcare professionals that have appeared in medical journals and trade publications worldwide.

Amy is a graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Communications. She has also completed several journalism classes from the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of California, Berkeley.
